Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
Pekudei is a service of SoftFinity Corp., doing business as Pekudei ("Pekudei", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and what choices you have.
Two roles
A synagogue that uses Pekudei decides what information about its members and donors goes into the system and what is done with it. For that information the shul is in charge and we handle it on the shul's instructions. If you are a member or donor and have a question about your record, your shul's office is the place to ask, and we will help them answer.
For the information we collect about our own customers and visitors, described below, we are in charge.
What we handle
- This website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no advertising trackers. The sign-in box on the home page sends nothing to us. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your browser's request for them. If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply.
- Account information. The names, email addresses and roles of the people at a shul who use Pekudei, and records of what they do in it.
- Member and donor records. What the shul enters or imports: names, households, contact details, memberships, pledges, gifts, invoices, payments, yahrzeit dates and similar records.
- Payment information. Cards are entered on pages run by Stripe. We receive the result, the amount and the last four digits. Full card numbers never reach our servers. Bank transactions arrive through Plaid for the accounts the shul connects.
How we use it
To run the service for the shul: billing members, recording gifts, sending receipts and reminders the shul has asked for, reconciling payments against deposits, keeping the books, and answering support requests. We also use technical logs to keep the service secure and working.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not use it to train AI models.
The AI agent
The reconciliation agent runs on privately hosted AI. It sees the payment and deposit details it needs to propose a match. That information is not used to train any model and is not shared with anyone for their own purposes.
Who else receives information
- Stripe, to process card payments
- Plaid, to read transactions from the bank accounts the shul connects
- Our hosting and email providers, to run the service and deliver messages
- A CRM the shul chooses to connect, such as Salesforce or Zoho, on the shul's instruction
- Authorities, when the law requires it
Each provider receives only what it needs for its part.
Security
Each shul's data is kept apart from every other shul's. Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Administrators sign in with a second step, and changes are logged. Backups are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information we will tell the shul without undue delay.
How long we keep it
For as long as the shul is a customer. After a shul leaves, its data stays available for export for 60 days and is then deleted, apart from what the law requires us to keep. Accounting records may need to be kept by the shul for several years; an export gives the shul its own copy.
Your choices
Members and donors can ask their shul to see, correct or delete their record, and can opt out of emails from the shul. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under your state's privacy law, including the right to know what is held about you and to ask for its deletion. Write to us and we will either act on the request or pass it to your shul.
Children
Pekudei is used by organizations and their adult staff and members. A shul may record children as part of a household. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children.
Changes
We will post any change here with a new effective date, and tell customer administrators by email about a change that matters.
